GAP Adventures

Gap adventures

Taking a gap adventure is now largely seen as a right of passage for many students, however, to view these trips as purely for the young would be a mistake.

While the trips are clearly popular with students, they are also proving a hit with older travellers who have taken a career break or in some cases have retired – and no wonder with such a wonderful selection of countries to visit and activities to go on.

Adventure travellers can head to any number of different destinations but the most established routes tend to be to Australia, America and Africa.

Don’t be mistaken that gap adventures are simply an excuse for students to delay finding a job. The majority of organised adventure travel tours mix a fair amount of play with extremely hard but rewarding volunteer work, so it’s far more than just tavelling around the world to take in the sights!

Unique adventure travel across the world

The web has helped to make finding a gap adventure simple. Look online and you’ll find a broad range of companies offering adventure travel packages at various price points.

Adventure packages can take in all manner of activities from a wildlife trip in Kenya to trekking in Peru or from a volunteer-based trip in El Salvador to a family adventure in Bali.

Many of the gap adventures offered fall in to that “once in a lifetime” category. Taking a cruise around the Galapagos Islands or swimming in the Antarctic Waters are both rare opportunities.

So take on the world with a gap adventure. Not only will you see the planet in a whole new light but you’ll also benefit from lifelong memories of experiencing a different culture and seeing some breathtaking scenery.
