Days out in Scotland – soak up the history

My wife and I recently spent a week in a wonderful hotel in Edinburgh, and we really enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere of this iconic city and the surrounding region. For anyone visiting the area, there are some superb days out in Scotland to be had.
My favourite was on the Wednesday, when we drove to St Andrews. The journey took us over the iconic Forth Road Bridge into Fife, and the town itself was truly beautiful. Being a keen golfer, I was thrilled to be able to walk across the world-famous Swilken Bridge, thereby following in the footsteps of many of the game’s legends.

Why I called a nuisibles expert on holiday

My wife and I have a beautiful holiday home in France, and whenever we can we drive down there for a break. We have two young children, and they love the opportunity to swim in the sea and enjoy the fresh air. We recently had a problem with cockroaches in the house, though, so we had to call on some specialist help.
A neighbour gave me the business card of the local nuisibles expert, a word I later found meant pest control. He was very helpful, and ever since his visit we haven’t seen a single cockroach, thank goodness.

Antipalomas experts saved my holiday

My wife and I had a wonderful holiday in Spain last year, and we stayed in a superb villa that was in a wonderfully remote location, just as we’d hoped it would be. The only issue we had was that the place was blighted by the presence of birds in the chimney and on the patio.
A neighbour suggested we call the antipalomas expert who was based in the local village. That’s the Spanish word for bird control, and his number was in the local newspaper. He was brilliant, and he solved the problem in no time at all.

Gatwick Meet and Greet Parking Made Flying so Easy

Gatwick meet and greet parking made such a difference to us last time we landed at the airport. We had been away on holiday but had to be back at a certain time because it was a close friend’s wedding on the day we landed. However, our flight home was delayed by two hours, which made us think we were going to be late for the ceremony. However, it was such a relief to have meet and greet parking because it meant our car was waiting for us when we came through arrivals and we didn’t have to lose any more time catching the car park transfer bus.

What to expect to find in Dubai suites

Over the last few decades, several holiday destinations have come to represent a certain degree of popularity in a certain age. They have, in many ways, become representative of a particular generation, in fact. Monte Carlo, Antibes, St Moritz, Benidorm, Bali and Florida have all welcomed waves of visitors at certain points in time, and now it seems the Persian Gulf has joined them.

Dubai is one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE, and it attracts millions of tourists every year, as well as a large number of business travellers. Over the past twenty years, a vast number of construction projects have led to the building of hotels, theme parks, restaurants, golf courses and many other amenities that befit a world-class holiday destination.

The climate in the region lends itself perfectly to tourism. Even what is rather inappropriately called winter is pleasantly warm, making this a year-round resort. And in the summer months, the temperatures are high, although there is generally a breeze blowing, making it perfect for everything from lounging in the sun on a private beach to hitting a long drive into the middle of a lush green fairway.

The hotels in the area are generally very large and very well-appointed. Anyone who books Dubai suites can expect a high level of comfort and just about every facility they could possibly want. Balconies overlooking the waters of the Persian Gulf are common, and those with a view across the cityscape are also popular, with a vista that includes the Burj Dubai, the tallest building in the world.

Many people who visit Dubai do so because they particularly like to shop. The malls in the region are huge and, in most cases, exceptionally futuristic. They provide air-conditioned comfort for bargain hunters, and virtually all of the world’s most famous names in fashion are found there. The local, traditional markets are also worth a visit, especially for those looking for jewellery and accessories.

People who stay in Dubai suites can also, if they feel energetic enough, enjoy a range of sports. The golf courses are known throughout the world, and some have hosted prestigious international tournaments. There are several excellent tennis schools as well, and the water sports in particular are excellent. Snorkelling, scuba diving and windsurfing are all available in a variety of locations.

Sampling the local nightlife is something every tourist should do. The region has so many restaurants to choose from, so visitors will often plan ahead. That way, they can sample as many different cuisines as possible. While they may opt for Japanese one evening, for example, it could easily be followed by Mexican night. And once they’re pleasingly full, they can dance the night away in one of the ultra-cool clubs.

For many, it can be a hectic week or two purely because there is so much to see and do, but those who stay in Dubai suites can always just spend a day beside the beach doing absolutely nothing, just to recharge the batteries.

Dubai hotel rooms proving popular around the world

Throughout the world, there are holiday destinations which promise an enjoyable experience to visitors, and the tourist industry has become increasingly competitive in recent years. In various regions, countries are in a constant battle to attract holiday makers, as well as international business travellers. There are, of course, certain attractions that are needed to make a success of it.

Perhaps the most important, even before a hotel, theme park or shopping mall is anything more than an architect’s drawing, is the climate. The most popular holiday destinations are those that enjoy warm weather and hour after hour of uninterrupted sunshine. Mexico, the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean, the west coast of America and the coastlines of Australia are all examples of this.

Excellent transport links are another important factor. A highly rated international airport is usually a prerequisite, and there should also be good bus and train connections to the resort itself. It’s no good having a wonderfully warm beach and a string of top hotels if nobody can get there in the first place. In the end, investment in areas such as this will eventually prove a failure.

Therefore, if you have the climate and the transport network, you have a chance to succeed. Hotels, shopping facilities, theme parks, sporting amenities and other features then need to be added, and once all of those are in place, you have the perfect holiday resort. It would appear that the United Arab Emirates has all of them, which is why it has proved such a magnet in recent years.

Dubai hotel rooms have become well-known for their luxury and comfort over the last decade, so it’s not surprising to know they attract visitors from all over the world. The hotels themselves also offer people a wide range of facilities, such as restaurants and bars. In the local vicinity, there are also private beaches and a choice of swimming pools.

The emirate itself is located on the Persian Gulf, and it has a rich history. In fact, it is still the site of many important archaeological excavations. However, it is also one of the most futuristic cities on Earth, and the skyline is dominated by the world’s tallest man-made structure, the 828-metre tall Burj Dubai. Many visitors take to the waters of the Persian Gulf on night-time cruises to see the beautifully illuminated cityscape.

A large number of rooms enjoy views across the Persian Gulf, while others look out on to the modern buildings and landmarks. Those with balconies are particularly popular, because they allow guests to sit outside as the sun goes down, giving way to the bright lights of a glamorous international playground for those on holiday and those on business.

Visitors to the region come from all over the world, although it has proved an easy destination in particular for Europeans. It’s a relatively short flight from cities such as London, Paris, Munich and Rome. Dubai hotel rooms are available to those who book through travel agents and on the Internet.

Номера отеля Дубае offer visitors a base for visitors, enabling them to relax each evening after exploring the area.

New homes for sale in Wales

An ever increasing number of people are choosing to stay in the UK for their holidays at the moment, and there are several reasons for this. One is the lack of a language barrier, of course, while another is the hassle of flying abroad these days. This trend has led to many relocating to British tourists spots, too.
Anyone looking for new homes for sale in Wales, for example, may well have been tempted by how much they enjoyed a recent trip to the principality. The area is home to some breath-taking landscape as well as a number of historic towns and villages.

Discovering caravan parks in Pitlochry, Perthshire

caravan parks pitlochryJust 75 minutes from Edinburgh, Pitlochry feels like another world away. With its dramatic Quartz mountain skyline, gentle river and mystifying loch, the town is popular with tourists all year round.

Although just a small town, its focus on tourism means that Pitlochry has a range of holiday homes and caravan parks. Pitlochry holiday homes can be quite pricey, but its caravan parks are priced similarly to elsewhere in Pershire.

Many of the caravan parks in and around Pitlochry have tent and touring facilities available for short breaks as well as static caravans for hire on a weekly basis.

Other activities popular with tourists include shows at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre and visits to Blair Castle and the Blair Atholl distillery.
